Dear Colleagues,
The San Antonio Tourism Public Improvement District (SATPID) is seeking passionate and qualified individuals to serve on its Board of Directors. As a vital organization dedicated to promoting and enhancing San Antonio’s hotel and tourism industries, the SATPID Board plays a crucial role in shaping strategic direction and advocating for stakeholders across the city.
There are currently two (2) open board positions, each requiring a full two-year commitment:

Zone One Representative (Downtown Hotels)
-
Zone Two Representative (Hotels outside Downtown)
The SATPID Board consists of 13 members: 11 voting Directors representing hotels, including six (6) members from Zone One (Downtown) and five (5) from Zone Two (outside Downtown), along with two Ex Officio non-voting members—the President and CEO of the San Antonio Hotel and Lodging Association (SAHLA) and the President and CEO of Visit San Antonio (VSA).
Board members actively contribute to SATPID’s mission by:

Providing governance and policy oversight.

Advocating for San Antonio’s hotel and tourism industry.

Offering strategic guidance and counsel.

Actively participating in board meetings and committees.

Supporting SATPID’s mission of "Promoting San Antonio’s hotel and tourism industries to enhance the economic impact of the city."
Qualifications for Board Members:

Industry Knowledge & Experience – Strong background in San Antonio’s hotel and tourism industry.

Strategic Insight – Awareness of industry trends and a forward-thinking approach.

Analytical & Leadership Skills – Effective decision-making and leadership abilities.

Governance Experience – Understanding board governance practices.

Ethical Leadership – Commitment to integrity and ethical decision-making.
Expectations of Board Members:
-
Attendance – Board members must attend all regularly scheduled meetings and may be removed for missing more than 25% of meetings in a 12-month period without consent.

Active Participation – Engage fully in board meetings, discussions, and decision-making processes.

Governance & Compliance – Adhere to SATPID bylaws and policies, and fulfill fiduciary responsibilities.

Avoid Conflicts of Interest – Disclose conflicts and abstain from related votes.

Financial Oversight – Ensure responsible and transparent management of district funds.

Communication & Transparency – Maintain open, clear communication with stakeholders.

After submission, the Nominating Committee will review applications and may conduct interviews in April 2025. The newly appointed board members will be announced in May 2025.
